Schoolhouse Brook Bridge Widening RFP

The Town of Northport is accepting bids for the widening and installation of sidewalks on the Schoolhouse Brook Bridge on Bayside Road in Northport. A full scope of work is available here. The bids are due to the Town Office no later than Friday, July 25, 2025 by 12:00 noon. At that time, bids will be reviewed for completeness only. The bid will be awarded at the Select Board meeting on Monday, July 28, 2025, after 6:15pm at the Town Office.

The successful applicant will provide a copy of general liability and worker’s compensation insurance prior to beginning work. The Select Board reserves the right to waive formalities, negotiate the cost, modify the scope of work, and/or accept or reject any and all bids should it be deemed in the best interest of the Town.

Upcoming Route 1 Road Work

The Maine Department of Transportation (DOT) will be conducting minor repairs to Route 1 during the months of August and September, weather permitting.

The work will include sealing cracks in the existing pavement in the area approximately between Catching Cove Road and Parkinson Lane. The DOT does not expect the work to cause any major impacts on traffic. Please use caution when driving through the work zone.
