Notice of Public Hearing – New General Assistance Maximums

Pursuant to Maine Revised Statutes Title 22, § 4305, the Town of Northport will hold a Public Hearing on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, after 6:15pm at Northport Town Office, 16 Beech Hill Road, to consider the adoption of new maximum allowances for 2026-2027 under the Town’s General Assistance ordinance. A copy of the proposed new maximums is available at Town Office and on the Town website.

All persons wishing to make comments or ask questions about the proposed revised ordinance and new maximums are invited to attend the Public Hearing. Written comments may also be submitted to administrator@northportmaine.org or Select Board, 16 Beech Hill Road, Northport, ME  04849, at any time prior to the Public Hearing. If you are unable to access any of the Town’s programs or services, please call 207-338-3819 so that accommodations can be made.

Renovation and Site Work Services

The Town of Northport is seeking bids for renovation and site work for the Town’s temporary Town Office space at 8 Beech Hill Road in Northport. Specifications may be found below and at the Town Office. Proposals will be marked “Temp Town Office Work” and shall be submitted to the Town Office at 16 Beech Hill Road, Northport, ME, 04849 by NOON on Friday, October 9, 2026. The bid will be reviewed for completeness only at and awarded at the Select Board meeting on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, after 6:15pm. Bidders are encouraged to attend the Select Board meeting. The Select Board reserves the right to waive formalities, negotiate the cost, modify the scope of work, and/or accept or reject any and all bids should it be deemed in the best interest of the Town.

Annual Town Meeting Warrant

The 2026 Annual Town Meeting will take place on Monday, June 15, 2026, at 6:30 pm at the Edna Drinkwater School (56 Bayside Road).

The Registrar of Voters will be available before the Annual Town Meeting, from 6:00 pm – 6:30 pm, at the Edna Drinkwater School on Monday, June 15, 2026, to register any eligible resident who wishes to register to vote at the Annual Town Meeting.
